Educational Hierarchy..

Have you ever noticed how our education system is messed up. The best schools in the city have the best teachers and the 'best' students. Now re-read the last sentence. Getting there? No? Well let me explain. As most of you with young kids at home or maybe back in your own day had to have been exposed to the admission process of schools. Every school now has a set 'criteria' to admit new possible clients a.k.a. students to their numbers. A child must have certain knowledge and intelligence before starting their school. Mediocre or low grading students or students who are a little slow are usually rejected by well known upper class schools. They claim to have the best staff but, what beats me, is that if their teachers are so highly trained and well apt at their jobs, than why is it that they can only teach high caliber pupils. Why can't they just teach the lot? Shouldn't there be an equal chance for a slow learning child to gain from such highly professional ...

Making a decision about your studies is actually the easiest thing when you think about the other 'decisions ' in life...

When I was younger I was always told what was good for me, what my aims are and how I should follow them. In a way it was a good thing as it always helped clear my head of ridiculous ideas. I always had a path decided  for me so it was never hard to cross it. When I grew older again there was a guide available. At any time at any place, for whatsoever reason. Life was a piece of cake! Even then with everything on a platter, I behaved exactly like a normal stubborn teenager, and hated everything. I always thought I had the short end of the straw. . Life moved on and today I understand what life was. It's so ironic that even after reading a hundred kazillion sayings on youth and how people were naive, no youth has ever missed on naivety and stupidity at that precious age, and so,  neither have I. But that's not the point. Latter lessons and hardships are just as nerve wrecking as the childhood ones. Just the difference is that from the previous you learn but from adulthood y...

Qasim ibn Hasan ibn Ali at Kerbala

Hazrat Qasim was the (3rd whereas some places it says last) son of the 2nd Imam of Islam Hazrat Hasan e mujtaba ibn Ali e Murtaza( may peace be upon them) from Lady Umme Farwa. He was 3 years old at the time of his father's death and it is said that he was 13 ( 16 in other references) when he went to Kerbala with his uncle Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S). It is said that Hazrat Qasim was a very beautiful and well build boy. He was trained in combat along with Ali Akber son of Hussain by their uncle Abbas, the well known martyr of Kerbala and the dearest brother of Imam Hussain. Having a great warrior as his teacher,Qasim himself was excellent with the sword. It is said that the warriors from the Yazeedi army were surprised to see this youth fighting with such skill and spirit, they were taken aback and fled with fear when they saw him in action. But ultimately the fierce soul-less monsters of Iblees killed the handsome youth as soon as he became slow due to thirst and hunger of 3 days ...
Unprescribed use of  OTC drugs is common practice everywhere. No one usually considers these drugs to be much harmful to health, as they do not require a physician's prescription, they are taken to very lightly. Almost everyone has a bottle of aspirin in the medicine cabinet. No one thinks twice about its risks as it is one of the most common drug of use. Similar is the case with paracetamol, bruphen, anti tussives, etc. Everyone has these medicines at home. While these medicines are the most commonly used drugs, they are also the most common poisons available in the market. A chronic overdose of aspirin can not only cause damage to various organs of the body, it can also at extremes cause failure of certain systems of the body. It at the most common, is a major cause of Gastric ulcers and lesions. Although, most cough medicines are generally considered as not medically dangerous, but, these should also not be taken in increased doses. Almost all drugs are harmful to some extend a...

I am so addicted to Facebook  these days! I cant believe it has become so 'in' with the crowd these days. No matter the age or gender, everyone is on it! Its a good way of staying connected. Facebook is sort of a new social get-together place. Its not that new though, just new in this decade. Its quite different from twitter and hi5, etc. Loads of applications from games to quiz applications. Its like a little world of interests in there. My favorite part is the sharing of pictures and status updates. Plus I love it when I find some long lost friend or out-of-touch relative. It feels so nice to be able to see a part of their life from so far away, after such a long time. Its really a good platform for staying in touch with everyone. I'm not much interested in meeting new people, but, it really feels nice in staying connected with almost everyone. Reading everyones status update keeps us informed of their life and updating our life helps us share a part of us with our ...
I bought a new cell phone. Its from Nokia, model is 5800 express music. Its quite a nice phone. So far its working great. I've downloaded a couple of games and some themes. The touch screen is new to me, so still getting the hang of it. The phone is very slick and light. A really good looking hunk of a phone ;) There is a slight problem though, every time I open the Installation files folder the phone hangs up. Dont know whats wrong with it. I thought this time Nokia had solved this error. Usually symbian phones have this problem. My ex-cell phone N 73 had a veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad habbit of hanging up on me. It was very annoying. It took ages on it to just open a new message.... 5800 is much much better !! Atleast now i dont have to wait 10 minutes just to see a text.
Phew! Writing after a couple of days.. was'nt feeling too good. Anyways, back on track now.
